Release 4: Lessons learned and Programme Management

Pretty obvious but I just want to highlight this:

I already mentioned that I am managing this blog using the management practices of XP. I write my stories (ie: what do I want to talk about on this pages), I run my mini planning games for each iterations, then I write the blogs themselves (deliverables of my iterations), I do my iteration restrospectives and try to measure my velocity.

So, what is obvious?

Well, I don't just have this blog to manage, I also have a day job, a familly and social life as well as other extra work projects... My priorities change from one day to the other and I adapt my capacity to deliver according to these priorities.

Currently, my personal "programme of work" is pretty busy and the priorities I have set on some of the outcomes I am trying to achieve are higher to the ones I have set for this blog.

Where am I getting at?

This is my way to apologise for not being able to post more often. However, the outcomes I have set for this blog are still pretty important for me to keep it on the radar.

It is also a message to all project and programme managers out there: it is possible to manage a programme of work using XP management practices. I know 'cause I do it.
